Search for power efficient memory ends with DDR 333

Successive modifications in DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules made DDR-333, the slowest DDR memory module that you can get in the market. Basically it is designed for the computer system that operates at clock frequency of 166 MHz DDR 333 memory modules are backward compatible, so can operate even in systems with slower memory module. DDR 333 because of its special features is now replacing the slower version of memory module.

Double bandwidth is also achieved with ddr 333 when used as memory module in the computer system with no change in the clock frequency, so it is preferred over the SDRAM module. The high bandwidth is due to transferring of data at falling and rising edge of clock, so it can be said that DDR 333 memory modules restricts the use of slower speed memory module as you can work faster with DDR 333 memory module. Also packaging is done both in DIMM and SO DIMM for its use in desktop, notebook and other systems.

The DDR 333 DIMM is similar in appearance with SDRAM module, with only difference of the number of pins and the notches. Also it operates at 2.5 volts unlike other memory modules operating at 3.3 volts, so with it power consumption is reduced. The effective frequency for it is 333 MHz and so named as DDR- 333. All such features can also be obtained by using memory modules similar to DDR 333 available in the market.
